Have seen some beautiful sunrises and sunsets from my back door. So… it’s not the beach- but I can still admire the beauty of God’s creation and worship him!

season of clouds
Sorry it took me so long to sum up our adventures from Monday! Anyway, we journeyed to the Anahuac Wildlife Refuge, which was pretty neat. It was SO HOT, however, that we really couldn’t stay very long. I did get some neat pictures, though. Tim took this first one!
The scenery at the refuge really was very beautiful. Jenn really enjoyed it. I walked out along a wooden trail there (love those!) and took some cool pictures of the flowers and grasses and clouds.
We also took some photos as we were driving. The scenery in Texas is VERY flat, unless you find the Hill Country near San Antonio, where we’ll be headed shortly. :O) Anyways, I wanted to share with you the common sights in Texas–HUGE clouds, sometimes stormy, and cattle eating grass as far as the eye can see!
It was such a bummer that we actually found a real “wild” gator, however, I couldn’t get a picture of it because I hopped up onto a bench to take a really good one from above and scared it away! 😦
Sooo…after our wildlife encounters, we drove back along Bolivar and returned to Galveston by the ferry. It was fun, though a VERY hot wait in the van with no AC. Ah well…we drove along with the side door open for a little while, hoping to catch the slightest chance of some wind. :O) Got some nice pics on the Ferry…enjoy!
sunsets in galveston
We’ve seen some pretty beautiful sunsets lately in Galveston. The clouds have been pretty lately. We don’t live too far from the Galveston Bay, so if I can walk there quickly, I might catch a good picture. Sometimes, though, the light changes way too quickly and it’s easy to miss! Other pictures we have taken out the van window while driving. It is fun for me to try and stop the van at a perfect place for a picture. I know Tim doesn’t understand my insanity, but he has happily joined in and taken a bunch of the pictures for me while I’m driving. 🙂 Enjoy.

“Weeping only lasts for the night, but joy comes in the morning…”
How I have missed getting up early enough to see the sunrise from the beach! Because of the wintry weather, rainy season with night fog, working hard, pregnancy, and Barkley coming to live with us in October, I haven’t been out to the beach early in months! My morning always starts with showering and then taking care of the dog. Happily, I have figured out that the dog is fine shut in the bedroom with Tim until I get back from watching the sunrise. So I am hoping to have the energy to get up more often. It was a beautiful morning, a time to reflect, talk with God, and bring peace to my soul. With all that’s going on, it’s important that I take the time to enjoy the beauty around me. Hope you enjoy it too!
